View plansA Satisfactory server's resource needs grow with factory size rather than player count. Even in a four-player session, once thousands of machines, conveyor belts and train lines are built, the work the production loop must compute each tick multiplies. Most of that computation happens on a single thread, so adding vCPU stops helping past a point; per-core performance is what decides. The second variable is the save file: as the factory grows, both save size and save duration grow with it.
A Satisfactory server hosts a persistent factory world where players build automated production lines together. The server software is installed through SteamCMD and player counts are usually small (typically groups of four). Resource needs, however, scale with factory size rather than player count: thousands of machines, conveyors and every item moving along them are continuously simulated. That makes Satisfactory the most interesting case on this list — a four-player server can demand high resources months later because of a huge factory. The save file also grows noticeably as the factory expands, so regular backups matter.

The amounts in the table are the monthly net price of each processor option and match the calculation in the configurator. The value option uses DDR4 memory, the performance option DDR5. Billing period (3, 6, 12, 24, 36 months) and extra resources are calculated in the configurator.

In a new game, four players run comfortably on 6-8 GB. Late-game factories change that picture: 12-16 GB is normal with tens of thousands of machines and long train networks. On the CPU side, because the production loop is single-threaded, 4-6 vCPU covers most scenarios and more gives no measurable gain; choosing a higher clocked processor is what helps instead. On storage, autosaves accumulate and each one writes a complete file; since a single late-game save can reach hundreds of MB, NVMe reduces the stalls that occur while saving.

View plansThe performance option. Zen 4 with DDR5 and the highest single-core performance in our catalogue. Because Satisfactory runs its production loop on one thread, this is the only thing that determines tick time in late-game factories. DDR5 bandwidth also helps with large save files.
View plansThe order matters when moving a live server: back up the game files and the database on the old server, install the same version on the new one, import the database, then update the address your players connect to. Move the database last — if both servers stay online together for a while, player data splits in two and cannot be merged afterwards. Do not shut the old server down until the new one is verified.
