Palworld Server Hosting

The Palworld dedicated server is known for using more memory than its player count suggests. A 32-player server can climb into the 16-32 GB range as bases and Pals accumulate. The server software is still evolving, so the resource profile can shift between releases.

What is a Palworld server?

A Palworld server hosts a shared world where players catch creatures and build bases. The server software is installed through SteamCMD. Its resource profile is heavier than expected: because creatures, bases and the tasks assigned to them are continuously simulated, RAM needs grow with the number of bases built and creatures caught rather than with player count. The game is updated frequently in early access, so the server version must match the client version — a mismatch blocks connections entirely. The save file grows quickly as players progress, and regular backups matter more here than in most games.

Recommended plan by player count

These values map one to one onto the VDS plan steps in our catalogue. Intermediate values can also be selected in the configurator.

The amounts in the table are the monthly net price of the Ryzen 7950X plan and match the calculation in the configurator. Billing period (3, 6, 12, 24, 36 months) and extra resources are calculated there. Some recommended values exceed this product's maximum, so the price is calculated from the configuration clamped to that limit; for higher resources, review the dedicated servers.

Prices exclude VAT (20%).

How to choose the hardware

Because memory use grows with session length, scheduled restarts are a practical measure. Save files also grow quickly, so account for backup space when choosing storage. Scheduled restarts and snapshots are managed by you from the panel.

Which processor family?

Most game servers run on a single thread, so per-core performance matters more than core count.

Ryzen 7950X

The Palworld server carries most of its simulation load on one core, so the highest-IPC family reduces stutter.

Setup steps

  1. 1Install with an Ubuntu 22.04 template and download the Palworld dedicated server via SteamCMD.
  2. 2Open UDP 8211 (default), and TCP 25575 for RCON.
  3. 3Configure the player cap and rates in PalWorldSettings.ini.
  4. 4Schedule a daily restart, since memory use grows over time.

Common mistakes

  • Sizing RAM by player count. The load is set by how many bases and creatures are being simulated.
  • Not matching the server version to the client. Because the game updates often, a mismatch blocks connections entirely.
  • Updating without a backup. Early-access updates can break save compatibility.

Migrating from another provider

The order matters when moving a live server: back up the game files and the database on the old server, install the same version on the new one, import the database, then update the address your players connect to. Move the database last — if both servers stay online together for a while, player data splits in two and cannot be merged afterwards. Do not shut the old server down until the new one is verified.

If you get stuck on a step, open a support ticket; we help with the installation steps.

What is included at Datafex

Fexwall L3/L4 DDoS filtering is included free on every plan. That is the layer a game server needs; a CDN in front of HTTP does not protect the game's UDP traffic.

Every plan uses NVMe SSD. The database runs on the same machine as the game server, so storage latency turns directly into in-game stutter.

Servers are in Türkiye, at the DGN data centre in Bursa. Transit is 100 Gbps domestic and 10 Tbps international.

Setup completes automatically within minutes. Extra IPs, rDNS and firewall rules are managed from the customer panel.
